What are the benefits of your co-treating model?
When working with children, speech pathologists and occupational therapists often have similar goals or areas of focus that overlap for both clinicians. At Little Palms Pediatric Speech & OT, the co-treating team consists of a speech pathologist and an occupational therapist working closely with your child simultaneously in a joint therapy session. The expertise and skilled perspectives of both clinicians help to maximize therapeutic collaboration and ensure that your child's goals are being targeted in the most effective way possible.
-
Where are the sessions located?
We come to you! Therapy evaluations and sessions will be conducted in convenient locations such as homes, daycares, preschools/schools, community, and through teletherapy.
-
How long are therapy sessions?
We currently offer 30, 45, 60, and 75 minute sessions, dependent upon recommendations following your child's evaluation. As two therapeutic disciplines (ST & OT) work in collaboration, a 30-minute session will only be available to those taking place at your child’s daycare or school. A minimum of 45-minute sessions are required for all other settings.
-
Do you accept insurance?
We are an out-of-network provider, meaning we do not accept insurance. We currently only accept private pay, but you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurance for an out-of-network provider. We are more than happy to provide you with a Superbill upon request to take to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
-
How can I pay for services?
We accept payment via card at the end of your appointment. We also accept FSA/HSA funds and state scholarship programs (Step Up for Students).
-
Do you provide a superbill?
We are able to provide you with a Superbill upon request to take to your insurance for potential reimbursement or for documentation for the use of HSA/FSA funds. Please check with your insurance provider for further information about out-of-network providers.
-
Why do you not participate with insurance?
We aim to prioritize the needs of the child and family. Insurance companies often dictate how many sessions of therapy a child is allowed to receive, how often those sessions need to occur, and when assessments need to be completed. By not participating with insurance, we are able to provide services without any restrictions. We believe this is a benefit as the family is able to make decisions regarding services that are not contingent upon insurance approval.

What is Your Cancellation / No-Show Policy?
An attendance policy ensures your child has consistent sessions in order to make progress, as well as allowing other clients an opportunity to reschedule in those temporary openings. To help clients minimize instances of incurring a late fee, a 24-hour advance text message will be sent out for appointment reminders.
In the event you need to cancel your appointment, please notify us via text or email by 6 pm the day prior to your appointment. Otherwise, a cancellation fee of $50 may be charged to your card on file. A no-show (defined as canceling 2 hours or less before your scheduled appointment or if neither you/your child are home when the therapists arrive) will incur a $100 fee to the card on file.
We recognize that unexpected situations, such as sudden illness, injury, or emergencies, can prevent attendance. We will accommodate extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis. If cancellations or no-shows happen frequently, we will work together to adjust your therapy schedule or discuss whether a break from therapy is necessary.
